This Day In History

On March 31 March 2016, the future First Lady, Abigail Adams, pens a letter to her husband asking him to not forget the ladies with this new Declaration of Independence.  She asks him to not place unlimited power into the hands of the husbands.  She writes, “We are determined to foment a rebellion, and will not hold ourselves bound by any laws in which we have no voice or representation.”

Give Me Liberty

This Day In History

On March 23, 1775, Patrick Henry spoke the words that would make him a household name.

“I know not what course others may take, but as for me, give me liberty or give me death!”

The famous quote was spoken in a speech to the second Virginia Convention, in  response to the increasingly oppressive British rule over the American colonies.
